I Want to Eat Healthier… But Not If It’s Hard, Boring, or Inconvenient

If you’ve ever found yourself saying “I want to eat healthy”, while still needing it to be easy, filling, convenient, cheap, and nothing that feels like a diet, you’re not alone.
I hear this almost every day in my coaching practice. Women come to me saying they want a lifestyle change, but the change has to come with conditions. It can’t be too green. It can’t involve vegetables they don’t like. It can’t make them feel hungry. It has to fit their cravings, their schedule, their budget, and their preferences. And I get it.
We’ve all been trained to believe that eating healthy means giving up everything that makes food enjoyable. So, when women finally say yes to change, it makes sense that they still want to feel satisfied, comforted, and in control.
But here’s what I’ve learned over the past 20 years of coaching women through real-life weight loss and lifestyle transformation: you can’t build a future version of yourself with the eating habits of your past.
If you’re still choosing meals based on what feels easiest or what makes you feel emotionally safe in the moment, even the best “healthy” plan will eventually feel like a fight.
You’ll start strong, maybe eat clean for a week, then hit a rough day and suddenly be back in the pantry looking for something that tastes like comfort. And when that happens, it’s easy to tell yourself the plan didn’t work or that it was too restrictive.
But most of the time, it’s not the food that’s the issue; it’s the fact that your identity hasn’t caught up with your goals.
This is what I explore in Episode 2 of my new video series, Coach G’s Weight Loss Chronicles. It’s called “I Want to Eat Healthy… But Not Like That”, and it’s about the moment when a woman says she wants to change, but only if that change doesn’t ask her to grow out of old eating patterns.
The series is short, real, and based on the honest things women tell me every week. I created it to help women see themselves in these common moments; the ones that don’t get talked about enough, but that often make or break progress.
If you’re someone who keeps saying “I just need something sustainable” or “I want to eat better, but it has to be realistic,” then Episode 2 was made for you.
It’s not a lecture. It’s not a nutrition lesson. It’s a quick glimpse into the kind of conversation I have behind the scenes with real women who want change but feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them.
The truth is, sustainable weight loss isn’t just about what’s on your plate. It’s about who you’re becoming while you eat it.
And if you’re ready to explore what that version of you looks like, I invite you to watch Episode 2.
If it hits home, just DM me the word “Success” and I’ll invite you into a Free 1:1 breakthrough session. There’s no pressure, no judgment; just real support and the space to uncover what’s actually been holding you back.
Because eating better shouldn’t feel like a fight. It should feel like stepping into the version of you who no longer has to bargain her way into change.
